Privacy policy

This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is legally binding.

2. General information on data processing

As a rule, we process our users' personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website as well as our content and services. Processing generally takes place only with the user's consent or on the basis of another legal permission, in particular Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR (performance of a contract or legitimate interest).

3. Hosting

This website is hosted via the Vercel service, offered by Vercel Inc., a company based in the USA. The EU region (Frankfurt) is intended for hosting. When the website is accessed, Vercel processes technically necessary data (including IP address, time of access, page accessed) in so-called server log files in order to deliver the website.

As Vercel Inc. is a company based in the USA, data may be transferred to a third country. Vercel stores the server log files only briefly, between one hour and one day depending on the plan. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable delivery of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

4. Fonts

The fonts used on this website (Source Serif 4 and Source Sans 3) are stored locally on our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts servers, and no data is transferred to Google in the process.

5. Cookies

This website does not set any cookies of its own when you simply visit it. Google Analytics cookies are only set if you give your consent in the cookie banner (see section 6). We store your decision in your browser's local storage so that the banner does not appear on every visit. If you switch to Tiqets via an affiliate link, Travelpayouts and Tiqets may set their own cookies in order to attribute the purchase to our recommendation. These cookies are subject to their privacy notices (see section 7).

6. Analytics and tracking tools

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-QNEHHNMMCD), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Purpose: to understand which pages and calculators are used in order to improve our website. In the process, cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) are set and usage data (including IP address, which according to its own statements Google Analytics 4 does not store, pages accessed, device and browser) is transferred to Google. A transfer to the USA is possible; Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act)). Without consent, Google Analytics does not load. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page; the Google Analytics cookies are then deleted immediately.

Google signals are deactivated. Event data is deleted after 14 months.

7. Affiliate links

Links to card providers are affiliate links. We use the affiliate network Travelpayouts for this; the links lead via a Travelpayouts redirect to the ticket provider Tiqets (Tiqets International B.V., Amsterdam). When you click on such a link, data (including IP address, time of the click) is transmitted to Travelpayouts and Tiqets so that the commission can be attributed; cookies may be set there. The privacy policies of Travelpayouts and Tiqets apply.

Links to providers run via our own redirect on this website (path /go/). For each click, we store: which link was clicked, the provider, the page of this website from which the click came (or only the note “external”), the time, the device type (smartphone, tablet or computer) and whether it is an automated request (bot). When you click “Book” in the calculator, we additionally store the selected duration and the number of adults and children, but not the arrival date. We store neither your IP address nor the complete browser identifier. The purpose is to measure how often links are used. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in audience measurement).

The entries are kept in the logs of our hosting provider Vercel and are deleted there after a short time (one hour to one day depending on the plan). When the page is accessed, the hosting provider itself processes the IP address, see section 3.

8. Contacting us

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (including email address, name, content of the message) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries) or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if the enquiry is of a pre-contractual nature.

9. Your rights

As a data subject, you have the following rights with respect to us:
